Getting Started
What ages do you work with?
I provide virtual therapy for adults 18+ across Florida, anchoring from my main hubs in Gainesville and Jacksonville to every corner of the state.
Do you work with couples or families?
No. My practice is focused on individual therapy for adults.
What issues do you specialize in?
I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and self-esteem as a CCTP and MCAP, offering a collaborative, trauma-informed approach.
What is your therapeutic approach?
I use a trauma‑informed, collaborative approach grounded in evidence‑based practices. Sessions are paced gently and tailored to your comfort level.
What does “trauma-informed” actually mean in our sessions?
It means we move at your pace. Many struggles with anxiety or self-esteem etc. have roots in past experiences, so we build safety and trust first. You’re never pushed to share more than you’re ready for.
What can I expect in the first session?
We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you need to feel safe and supported. There is no pressure to share more than you’re ready for.
What if I’ve never been to therapy before?
That’s completely okay. I’ll guide you through the process, answer questions, and make sure you feel supported every step of the way.
What is it like working with a Black therapist, if I’m not Black myself?
I welcome clients of all backgrounds. My approach centers on your specific story and experience, not assumptions about it. If you’re unsure about fit, that’s a great thing to explore in a free consultation.
Logistics
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I provide secure telehealth sessions for adults anywhere in Florida. Many clients appreciate the flexibility and comfort of meeting from home.
What technology do I need for online therapy?
A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and stable internet connection is all you need.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Longer sessions may be available upon request.
How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. As you feel more grounded and supported, we may shift to biweekly then monthly or as‑needed sessions.
How long will I be in therapy?
Therapy is individualized. Some clients work with me for a few months; others prefer long‑term support. We’ll decide together based on your goals.
Cost & Payment
What is your rate per session?
Sessions are $75, and I keep my rate intentionally accessible so therapy can remain consistent and sustainable.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept debit/credit cards and HSA/FSA cards.
Do you accept insurance?
No. I am a private-pay provider, which ensures your records remain confidential and treatment is tailored by you, not an insurance company.
Do you provide superbills for insurance reimbursement?
Yes. While I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide an itemized statement (Superbill) for you to submit to your insurance company for potential out of network reimbursement.
Do you accept Loveland Foundation vouchers?
Yes. I proudly accept Loveland Foundation vouchers for qualifying clients
What is your cancellation policy?
Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to the full session fee.
Other
Do you prescribe medication?
No. As an LMHC, I do not prescribe medication. If medication may be helpful, I can collaborate with your provider or refer you to one.
Is telehealth effective?
Yes. Research shows telehealth is just as effective as in‑person therapy for most concerns, including trauma, anxiety, and self‑esteem.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is protected by law. I follow HIPAA standards and maintain secure telehealth and record‑keeping practices.
How do I schedule a session?
You can schedule instantly via the Schedule a Session button which is at the top of most of my website pages, or reach out by phone/email to coordinate.
My virtual private practice operates by scheduled appointment only and is not a crisis center. If you are experiencing a life-threatening mental health emergency, please call 988, text HOME to 741741, or go to your nearest emergency room immediately
