Jenelle N. Ashley, LMHC, MCAP-Counselor/Therapist
I am a licensed therapist in private practice serving adults in Gainesville and throughout the state of Florida. I have worked in the behavioral health field for 21 years, including 13 years supporting clients with mental health and substance use challenges. For the past 7 years, I have focused on helping adults heal from anxiety, trauma, self‑esteem concerns, and emotional overwhelm.
My priority as your therapist is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and grounded. I take my time with my clients and go at a pace that feels manageable. Therapy with me is collaborative and centered on your lived experience. Together, we explore the patterns that shape your life and begin building healthier, more compassionate ways of coping and responding.
I believe therapy is a powerful process that can help you reconnect with yourself, understand your emotions, and move toward the life you want. It would be my honor to support you on that path.
Treatment Approach
I use a combination of evidence‑based and trauma‑informed approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. My work often includes:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Motivational Interviewing
- Person‑centered and strengths‑based approaches
- Mindfulness and self‑compassion practices
Many clients benefit from a foundation of CBT and ACT, and from there we build a treatment plan that reflects your goals, your history, and your pace. I also incorporate mindfulness and self‑compassion, which research shows can increase resilience, reduce emotional distress, and support long‑term healing.
My mission is to help you move past the experiences and patterns that have been holding you back. Whether you are working through anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, or self‑esteem concerns, we will work together to help you feel more grounded, more connected, and more capable of creating the life you want.
