Adult Anxiety Therapy in Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Throughout Florida

Find clarity, steadiness, and room to breathe

Anxiety can make life feel heavier than it looks from the outside. You may be functioning, showing up, and doing what needs to be done behind a strong polished exterior, yet still feel tense, overwhelmed, or stuck in your head. Maybe you replay conversations, second‑guess decisions, or feel pressure to keep everything together. Even when nothing is “wrong,” your mind may still be working overtime.

You do not have to keep navigating this alone. Therapy can help you understand what is happening beneath the surface and create more space to respond with intention instead of pressure.

I support adults across Florida,  anchoring from Gainesville, Jacksonville to every corner of the state, who want to understand their patterns, reduce avoidance, and build a more grounded relationship with their thoughts and emotions.

How Anxiety Shows Up

Anxiety does not look the same for everyone. You may notice:

  • constant worry or overthinking
  • difficulty relaxing or feeling present
  • irritability or feeling on edge
  • trouble sleeping
  • physical tension or restlessness
  • perfectionism or fear of disappointing others
  • people pleasing or over functioning
  • feeling overwhelmed by everyday tasks

You might not call it anxiety, but you know something feels off. You may feel disconnected from yourself or unsure how to slow down the cycle.

Therapy gives you a place to notice what is happening with more clarity and compassion.

If racing thoughts at night are part of what you’re navigating, you may also find it helpful to read When Your Mind Won’t Turn Off at Night.

If you find yourself stuck in go-mode and unable to truly rest, you might relate to my post on Why It’s So Hard to Slow Down (Even When You Want To).

What We Explore Together

My work is insight oriented and grounded in ACT and CBT principles. Together, we look at the patterns that keep anxiety in place and the ways you have learned to cope, protect yourself, or avoid discomfort. This may include:

  • understanding the thoughts and beliefs that fuel anxiety
  • noticing avoidance patterns that create more stress over time
  • learning how to stay present with difficult emotions
  • building self trust and confidence
  • setting boundaries that support your well‑being
  • shifting out of survival mode into a more flexible way of responding
  • reconnecting with what matters to you

You do not have to force change or push yourself past your limits. We move at a pace that feels steady and manageable.

My Approach to Anxiety Therapy

My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded. I am not here to judge you or tell you what you should be doing. I am here to help you understand your inner world with more clarity so you can respond in ways that feel aligned with who you want to be.

My background as a Black therapist gives me a meaningful lens on how culture, identity, and lived experience can shape the ways people learn to cope and carry stress. If those experiences are part of your story, we can explore them with openness. If not, we focus on the patterns that feel most present in your life.

Therapy with me is:

  • insight oriented
  • culturally responsive
  • steady and supportive
  • focused on patterns, meaning, and flexibility
  • paced to your comfort

You get space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.

You Do Not Have to Carry This Alone

Anxiety does not have to run your life. With the right support, you can feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected to yourself.

If you are ready to begin, I would be honored to support you. You can schedule a session or reach out with any questions.
